Description

Leeds City Region is one of the most dynamic, vibrant and diverse regions in the UK. Its rich cultural heritage, unspoilt rural assets and contemporary towns and cities make it a modern and inspiring place to live, work and settle down.  As the largest city region outside London, we’re at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse, contributing over £69 billion to the UK economy. We’re a national leader in areas like financial, professional and legal services, manufacturing, healthcare and the digital and creative industries, and we’re harnessing all of these assets as we work to develop a Local Industrial Strategy focusing on bold steps aimed at boosting productivity and driving inclusive and clean growth for a post-2030 economy

The role of the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (the LEP) is to unlock Leeds City Region’s vast economic potential by enabling business and enterprise to thrive. Working with partners in the public and private sector, we provide support and funding to help businesses create good, well-paying jobs, generate clean growth, attract new opportunities and investment to the region, and develop the skills and digital infrastructure we need to ensure a prosperous economy that works for everyone.

The LEP is currently seeking to recruit Board Members who will help us achieve even greater success.  We are looking for people who share a passion for the future of our economy and want to use their skills and experience to make a difference to the region’s prosperity.  You must have strong links to the City Region, with a track record as a senior manager in the private sector or a business stakeholder body, and with the time and energy to commit to attend meetings roughly every two months, with the potential for some additional commitments at other times, including serving on a range of our specialist advisory Panels.   We are particularly keen to hear from women and black and minority ethnic (BAME) individuals to ensure that we are representative of the diverse communities across Leeds City Region.
